Hana Daetoo Securities just announced that it has selected Numerix structuring, pricing and risk management solutions for its derivatives desks, providing immediate capabilities that will allow them to scale their derivatives platform. Hana Daetoo is the investment banking arm of the Hana Financial Group, which owns Hana Bank, the third largest bank in Korea by asset value.
Their derivatives desk will use Numerix Portfolio for trade capture and management, as well as enterprise risk management of their derivatives positions using Numerix’s extensive reporting and scenario analysis capabilities. Trading desks will also use Numerix CrossAsset XL to structure and issue new derivatives products.
The signing of Hana Daetoo is a direct result of our new consulting and distribution partnership with Korean-based STI CS Inc. It marks the first direct Numerix customer in Korea—opening the door to one of the fastest growing derivatives markets in the world.
This is one more accomplishment in a string of recent Numerix successes in Southeast Asia, including being named the 2009 Technology Company of the Year by Structured Products Magazine for the second year in a row, and the May 2009 Celent report which identified Numerix as the leader among its peers in providing advanced pricing technology, broad asset-class coverage and exceptional client service.
